On October 25, UWM’s Chinese Club, hosted their “Art of Paper Folding” event, where participants learned how to fold their zodiac animals out of paper. The creation of Origami was invented by Cai Lun around 105 A.D. during the Han Dynasty. The paper itself was used for ceremonial purposes before spreading out to different developments such as writing to paper toys for children. The paper was used for ceremonial purposes before being adapted to other purposes, such as writing paper and paper for children’s toys. To this day, people still practice paper folding for their own enjoyment or to create gifts for others.
