While I have always enjoyed hiking, camping, and the outdoors I never considered being a meteorologist until I was in college. In my first semester at Hobart & William Smith Colleges in NY I was placed in a course on the science of climate change and this is what opened the door of meteorology to me. What interested me most about meteorology was the way it combined math and physics to describe something so tangible and so relatable as the weather. My continued interest in meteorology led me to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I obtained a Master's degree and participated in Innovative Weather. Innovative Weather was a great place to start my career as not only did it allow me to apply what I learned in the classroom, but it also gave me experience dealing with clients/partners and having to make decisions under pressure.
