Like many others, my enthusiasm for weather began at a very young age. Growing up in central Minnesota, I had the luxury to experience the best of what the weather of each season had to offer: the pleasant beauty of spring in bud, raw power of summertime thunderstorms, radiant colors of fall foliage, and the blissful silence after a fresh winter snowfall. While all of the seasonal changes in Minnesota kept life interesting, what inspired me the most to pursue meteorology as a career was standing on my front porch with my dad during the summer as we would watch severe thunderstorms roll in and cracks of deafening thunder would shake our house. The feeling of pure awe that the strength of nature instilled in me lead me to learn more about how something so fascinating was even possible. I graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology from Saint Cloud State University in May of 2016 and started pursuing a master's degree in Atmospheric Science at UWM in fall of 2016, with Innovative Weather being one of the deciding factors that lead me to Milwaukee for graduate school. From the experience I gain from school and Innovative Weather, I hope to eventually work for the National Weather Service and put my love of weather to good use in helping keep the public weather aware. When I am not thinking about the weather, I enjoy basketball, football, running, cooking, and brewing my own beer. So far, Milwaukee has been a wonderful place to live and I look forward to enjoying the rest of the time that I spend here.
