I grew up in southeast Wisconsin where I have spent most of my life in Racine, a few years in Oconomowoc and my college years and after in Milwaukee. I love Wisconsin, all the seasons, and yes, I am that crazy person from the Midwest who doesn't mind the cold or the snow. I am a big sports fan, always rooting for the Packers and all other Wisconsin teams. Some fun facts about me is that I have been gold mining in Oregon, hiked 28 miles in the Grand Canyon, visited Dubai for two weeks, and toured around Europe for three weeks. I have been with Innovative Weather since May 2015 and during that summer I was a student volunteer with the National Weather Service at Milwaukee/Sullivan through the fall for 2015. While learning the ins and outs of operational forecasting I was training with the current IW programmer in the computer programming language, python. In April 2016 I became the Assistant Director of Programming as well as continuing with operational duties. I graduated with my bachelors in Atmospheric Science in May 2016 and continued with IW through February 2017. Then in March 2017 I moved to Houston to work for a marine weather forecasting company and being from Wisconsin, learning tropical weather has been a great learning opportunity and exciting new challenge. I still help out remotely with operations and with programming as needed. I can't say enough about what Innovative Weather has given me, this experience is priceless. In a very competitive field, the undergrad is not enough, you need the experience and the professionalism. IW made me competitive for National Weather Service jobs with only an undergrad degree and helped me grow personally. Also, being on WUWM NPR is super awesome. I can't thank this program enough.
