Lily Chapman
- Meteorologist, NWS - Marquette
I grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and came down to UWM to study Atmospheric Science in 2011. I enjoyed Milwaukee and UWM so much that I decided to stay here for graduate school, and successfully convinced my professors to let me into our Master's program. Another benefit of staying here is that I get to continue to work at Innovative Weather! My interest in weather didn't stem from a single, awesome weather event. I was actually afraid of thunderstorms as a child, but that meant that I spent a lot of time paying attention to the weather, and eventually developed an interest in meteorology. Maybe, given enough time, I will notice a similar transformation of my fear of spiders. When I'm not talking about the weather or quickly scanning every room I'm in for spiders, I spend my time playing the piano, eating bagels, and having long discussions about Game of Thrones - and not necessarily all at the same time.
