As the fall semester settles in, many UWM students may be looking for jobs – and scammers are looking for their next victim. Here are some signs that a job offer email may be a scam:
- Job offers you didn’t apply for
- Too good to be true opportunity/promising language
- Bad grammar
- Urgent recruitment
Always be skeptical of job offers you didn’t apply for. Read the email carefully and be cautious when clicking on links or filling out forms. If you are unsure if the job offer is legit, you can always contact the UWM Help Desk for assistance in verifying.
