ArcGIS Online
Software Overview
ArcGIS Online is a collaborative web GIS that allows you to use, create, and share maps, scenes, apps, layers, analytics, and data. You get access to content in ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World, ArcGIS apps, and cloud infrastructure, where you can add items; publish web layers; and create maps, apps, and scenes.

How to get this Software
To create an online account:
- Visit the online portal.
- Click Sign In in the upper right corner.
- Click USING YOUR UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MILWAUKEE ACCOUNT.
- Log in using your UWM credentials.

Premium ArcGIS Online Content
There are six premium content packages included in UW-Milwaukee’s ArcGIS Online subscription. These include:
- Geocoding,
- Network Analysis,
- Spatial Analysis,
- GeoEnrichment,
- Demographics, and
- Elevation Analysis.
Premium ArcGIS content consumes a large amount of credits but is quite reasonable when working with small data sets. Please visit the Premium ArcGIS webpage to learn more about credits. We recommend that if you are doing heavy processing with lots of data, do so offline with ArcGIS Desktop and then upload your content to ArcGIS Online.

Esri Self-Paced E-Learning
Software Overview
Esri offers free access to self-paced, online, training courses on topics ranging from Data Collection to creating 3D City Models.
How to get this Software
If you would like access to Esri Self-Paced E-Learning, create an ArcGIS Online account by following the instructions in the ArcGIS Online section above and visit the Esri Self-Paced E-Learning site to get started.

Software Overview
With ArcGIS Pro, you can:
- Explore, visualize, and analyze data

- Share your work with ArcGIS Online or your ArcGIS Enterprise portal

Autodesk/AutoCAD
Software Overview
Create stunning designs with AutoCAD® design and documentation software. Speed up documentation and detailing work with productivity tools and share your work with TrustedDW technology.
How to get this Software
Autodesk provides students with open access to more than 100 products. Visit the Autodesk Education webpage to get access to their suite of products. Students will be required to create a free Autodesk account in order to download the software.
JAWS
Software Overview
JAWS is the world’s most popular screen reader, developed for computer users whose vision loss prevents them from seeing screen content. JAWS reads aloud what’s on the PC screen and gives the user a unique set of intelligent tools for navigating and accessing Web pages and all screen content.
JAWS is available at UWM Campus Computer Labs. For lab locations and computer availability, visit the General Access Computer Labs webpage.
JMP
Software Overview
JMP combines powerful statistics with dynamic graphics and memory to reveal insights that are impossible to gain from raw tables of numbers or static graphs.
How to get this Software
UWM students can gain free access to JMP through thier website.
The license period for JMP Pro volume is from August 1st through June 30 of the following calendar year. Licenses are valid through the end of the current license period regardless of the purchase date.

MATLAB
Software Overview
MATLAB® is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming. Using MATLAB, you can analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models and applications. The language, tools, and built-in math functions enable you to explore multiple approaches and reach a solution faster than with spreadsheets or traditional programming languages, such as C/C++ or Java.
How to get this Software
Please follow the steps below and create a free MathWorks account to get started with MATLAB:
- Go to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s MATLAB portal.
- Scroll down to the middle of the page and click Sign in to Get Started.
- Log in using your UWM credentials.
- Create a free MathWorks Account.

Microsoft Azure
Software Overview
The developer tools and learning resources that were previously part of your Imagine account are now available with Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. For more information and access to Microsoft Azure visit the Azure for Education webpage.
Microsoft 365
Software Overview
UWM students get access to Microsoft 365, a powerful document management and collaboration platform. Going far beyond email and calendar, Microsoft 365 has document storage and collaboration utilities, video conferencing software, and powerful business intelligence platforms.

Read&Write
Software Overview
Read&Write is a text-to-speech software that will read your text aloud and makes content more accessible. Read&Write has two components: the Chrome extension (great for reading anything on the internet) and the desktop app (for reading books that have been downloaded to your computer).
How to get this Software
To install Read&Write for desktop and/or as a Chrome extension:
- Navigate to the Everway website
- Scroll own and choose the platform you need (Windows, Mac, Chrome, iPad, Android, etc.)
- Follow the steps to install on your desktop or the Chrome extension
- Once you have the software installed, log in using your UW-Milwaukee credentials

SAS
Software Overview
SAS fully uses multi-core technologies to deliver increased processing capabilities through high-performance, in-database and in-memory analytics. This results in greater insights more quickly from big data and streaming data.

Software Overview
IBM SPSS Statistics is an integrated family of products that addresses the entire analytical process, from planning to data collection to analysis, reporting, and deployment. With more than a dozen fully integrated modules to choose from, you can find the specialized capabilities you need to increase revenue, outperform competitors, conduct research, and make better decisions.
How to get this Software
UWM students can download this software for free through the UWM Software Shop.
- Once you have completed your order, an email will be sent to you containing further information on how to download the software.
- The license period for SPSS licenses is from September 1st through August 31st of the following calendar year.
- Licenses are valid through the end of the current license period regardless of the purchase date.
STATA
Software Overview
STATA statistical software is a complete, integrated statistical software package that provides everything you need for data analysis, data management, and graphics. STATA is not sold in modules, which means you get everything you need in one package.
How to get this Software
UWM students can purchase the software from the STATA website at an academic discount. This software can only be installed on the student’s personal computer.
think-cell
Software Overview
Create professional-looking presentations for your classes using think-cell.
How to get this Software
Visit think-cell’s website to download the free software. think-cell is available for both PC and Mac. To access the think-cell license key, login with your UWM credentials.
Visible Body Suite
Software Overview
An interactive 3D anatomy tool. Includes a human anatomy atlas, comprehensive references for biological concepts and processes, and 3D physiology animations.
How to get this Software
A personal account is required to use this resource. If you already have a Visible Body Courseware account, please use a different email address to create a Web Suite account.

Software Overview
