University Staff, Academic Staff (non-instructional) and Limited Appointees are required to complete performance evaluations in Workday. There are multiple performance processes that follow the employee’s life cycle.
Performance Evaluation Types in Workday
The following evaluation types are included in Workday. These are utilized for University Staff (ongoing and project), Non-Instructional Academic Staff, and Limited Appointees.

| Probation Final Evaluation | Assess performance of responsibilities and goal progress within first six months. Determine if standards have been met to pass probation. | Launched prior to end of probationary period or within 6 months of employee’s start date. |
| Annual Evaluation | Annual review of performance expectations and goals. Establish goals for upcoming year. | Launched July 1 for the prior Fiscal Year (July 1 to June 30). Due September 30. |
| Ad-hoc/Limited Use Evaluation | Utilized to document performance for Temporary University Staff/Academic Staff (less than one year), Employees-in-Training, and Student Assistants. | Can be launched up to once a year by an HR Business Partner. |
Annual/Probationary Evaluation Workflow
Once launched, the Annual and Probationary Evaluations follow the same workflow in Workday. The Probationary Evaluation will be launched by the HR Business Partner. The Annual Evaluation is launched en masse on an annual basis to all eligible employees.

Employees with multiple jobs must complete an additional task to request feedback from managers of their non-primary job. This feedback will be included in the annual evaluation. The manager of the primary job will have access to this information.
