Ready for an unforgettable spring break? Escape Wisconsin’s chill and embrace the warmth of Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. Explore hiking trails that lead to breathtaking views, mine for sparkling crystals at Arkansas’ famous Crystal Mines, and immerse yourself in the charm of historic downtown Hot Springs. Each night will be spent tent camping, cooking food and exploring new campgrounds rain or shine. Whether you’re seeking thrilling outdoor experiences or simply a change of scenery, this trip has it all.
This seven-day trip includes all transportation, equipment, instruction, lodging and meals. No worries if you haven’t been camping before — we will teach you everything you need to know and provide you with all the essential gear.
Registration closes Feb. 28. This trip will have two mandatory pre-trip meetings in March with all participants and trip leaders. There is an option to place a $200 deposit at checkout – the remainder of the balance must be paid in person at Outdoor Pursuits before the trip’s departure. 3/16 Drive 12 hours to Lake Catherine State Park, Arkansas
3/17 Explore Garvan Woodland Gardens and hike in Lake Catherine State Park
3/18 Hike North Mountain Trails in Hot Springs National Park
3/19 Explore the Wegner Quartz Crystal Mines, the Quapaw Thermal Pool and the Bathhouse Museum
3/20 Hike Sunset Trails in Hot Springs National Park
3/21 Hike West Mountain Trails in Hot Springs National Park, camp at Gulpha Gorge Campground
3/22 Drive 12 hours back to UWM
