A student’s financial resources and aid options play a leading role in a student committing to, continuing at, and graduating from UWM. The collaboration of departments that comprise Student Financial Services at UWM works to ensure students and their families are informed, empowered, and capable of navigating their financial journey from application to graduation and beyond.

The Student Financial Service Center (SFSC) leads collaboration efforts with key partners across the university and within the Milwaukee community to develop and deliver student finance-centric programming and assistance. SFSC staff present to a wide variety of audiences including, but not limited to:

  • middle and high schoolers across Milwaukee, reviewing ways to save early and apply for federal, state, and institutional funds that can make attending UWM a reality;
  • admitted and continuing UWM students, assisting in the completion of the FAFSA, and sharing tools and resources that contribute to a student’s financial wellness as a whole;
  • graduating and former UWM students, helping prepare students for successful loan repayment and potential forgiveness opportunities.

The SFSC invites faculty, staff, and community partners to request SFSC staff collaboration in any format. Additional information is available at uwm.edu/finances.
