Breann Clark

Breann's work at the Electa Quinney Institute centers Indigenous student success, relationship building, and the creation of spaces where Indigenous students can learn, connect, and thrive. She works with students across their academic journeys while developing programs and partnerships that strengthen relationships among students, campus, community, land, and culture.

Her work includes:

• Support Indigenous student success, retention, and belonging
• Coordinating student programming, community events, and campus partnerships
• Supporting the K&R Scholarship program and mentoring students
• Developing land-based and food sovereignty programming, including the Field to Fire Internship and Fire Circle Soup
• Building partnerships with Indigenous community members, organizations, farmers, and land stewards
• Supporting Indigenous student leadership and engagement
• Creating opportunities for the broader UWM community to engage with Indigenous knowledge, histories, and contemporary experiences

Breann is an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and bring more than a decade of experience in education, youth development, community-based programming, and Indigenous student support. Her professional and scholarly interest center Indigenous leadership, land-based education, food sovereignty, mentorship, and relational approaches to teaching and learning.

Brean is currently a doctoral candidate in Gonzaga University's Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies. Her research explores Indigenous leadership and relationships with land and more-than-human relatives, with particular attention to Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe communities in the Great Lake regions.
