Teams who participate in this hackathon are tasked with building a mobile application to help Brady’s territory managers create a safer workplace for their customers by spotting potential regulatory violations in images.

Their Visual Workplace Safety (VWS) initiative uses clear signage, organized workspaces, and color-coded systems to proactively prevent accidents—making safety an intuitive part of everyday work.

The Challenge

Brady’s salesforce faces the challenge of quickly recalling complex industry regulations while engaging with customers on the floor. This hackathon invites participants to build a mobile app to quickly and accurately spot regulatory violations directly from images. Successful solutions will help transform images of workplace setups into actionable insights.

  • Develop a Mobile Application: Identify potential regulatory violations from images in real-time.
  • Focus on Accuracy: Leverage provided pass/fail images and industry documentation to achieve high precision, recall, and F1 scores.
  • Innovate: While the core challenge is regulatory compliance, participants should explore additional regulations or novel features that add business value.

  • Feb 8: Hackathon Launches at 9 a.m.
  • Mar 3, 11:59 p.m.: Code Freeze & Model Turn-In (submit your code and testing results)
  • Mar 7, 1–4 p.m.: Final Presentations & Awards Ceremony at CSI.
