Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Workshop

The Connected Systems Institute is proud to invite you to attend our Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Workshop! Learners who attend this two-day (December 2 & December 3) workshop will be prepared to pass the Microsoft exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.

Purpose of course: The purpose of this course is to prepare students to pass Microsoft exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals. Azure Fundamentals certification is an opportunity to prove knowledge of cloud concepts, Azure services, Azure workloads, security and privacy in Azure, as well as Azure pricing and support.

Students are expected to prove competency in the following areas:

Describe cloud concepts
Describe core Azure services
Describe security, privacy, compliance, and trust
Describe Azure pricing, service level agreements, and lifecycles

Expectations: It is expected that each student will participate in the lecture and lab portions of this class. At the end of the class, the student will take exam AZ-900 to achieve Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification.

Lab Procedures: Students will be provided credits for Microsoft Azure to execute all labs. Instructions will be provided during day 1 of the course.

Schedule (2 consecutive days, 4 hours each day):
Day 1

Microsoft Azure cloud concepts (1 hr)Lab – Log in to Azure Portal and set up account

Microsoft Azure core services (3 hrs)Lab – Create a virtual machine
Lab – Deploy Azure Container Instances
Lab – Create a virtual network
Lab – Create blob storage
Lab – Create a SQL database
Lab – Implement Azure IoT Hub
Lab – Implement Azure Functions
Lab – Create a web app
Lab – Create a virtual machine with a template
Lab – Create a virtual machine with PowerShell
Lab – Create a virtual machine with the command line interface

Day 2

Microsoft Azure security, privacy, compliance, and trust (2 hr)Lab – Secure network traffic
Lab – Azure security center usage scenario
Lab – Implement Azure Key Vault
Lab – Create an Azure policy
Lab – Manage access with RBAC
Lab – Manage resource locks
Lab – Implement resource tagging
Lab – Explore trust center
