Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies
The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) supports teaching, research, and public engagement related to Latin America and the Caribbean, at UWM and beyond. For sixty years, we have served as a U.S. Department of Education National Resource Center.
At UWM, we are home to academic programs in Latin American, Caribbean, and U.S. Latinx studies (a major and two certificates). We host events across many academic disciplines and offer financial support for faculty and students to conduct research travel and academic study in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition, we offer teacher trainings and K-16 curriculum, host public events, and partner with community organizations to promote a deeper understanding of Latin America and the Caribbean both here in Wisconsin and beyond.
Our monthly e-newsletter includes stories about our work with community & national partners as well as upcoming events and opportunities for researchers, students, and educators. We do not share your information, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
