Yotala Oszkay Febres-Cordero is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her dissertation examines how urban economic and housing precarity underpins contemporary short-term rental markets (e.g. Airbnb) and the local politics over their regulation. She holds Master’s degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles and Central European University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She grew up in Milwaukee.
