Recruiting Opportunities

Increase your brand recognition and connect with UWM students by participating in virtual and in-person recruiting events. These opportunities are available to you at no cost and will allow you to share more about your organization and the available positions.

In-Person Recruitment

Recruitment Tables
  • Engage with students in a high traffic area in the UWM student union
  • Employers must have an active & approved job posting on Handshake prior to being able to table
  • Tables are ONLY for marketing job opportunities and other employment events/programs
  • You may bring promotional items or food; however, food items must come in original packaging and be individually wrapped.
  • Solicitation of services and giveaways of alcohol, drugs, or illegal activities are strictly prohibited
Information Session
  • Share information about your organization’s mission, values and available full-time, part-time and/or internship opportunities
  • Employers must have an active & approved job posting on Handshake prior to being able to table
  • Rooms are ONLY for marketing job opportunities and other employment events/programs
  • Solicitation of services and giveaways of alcohol, drugs, or illegal activities are strictly prohibited

Note: Late afternoon and early evening hours are the best time-frames to request an information session, as students have classes throughout the day.

On-Campus Interviews
Employers are welcome to host virtual interviews through their company’s video software program. Please visit Handshake to schedule these interviews.

To schedule an on-campus interview, please contact the career services office that best fits your current hiring needs based on the majors you wish to interview.

Virtual Recruitment

Candid Conversations Hour
  • Question and answer format on Microsoft Teams with students
  • Employer representatives can provide insight and have open and transparent conversations related to their career path/journey, how they leveraged their degree, etc.

In order to allow for fair participation for others, employers can only utilize this option once a month

Coffee/Lunch Hour with an Employer: Q&A Session
  • Hour question and answer format (on internship or PT/FT position) on the CPaRC Facebook
  • Employers are required to have active internship/employment opportunities to promote and allow students to ask questions

Online Resume Reviews/Interview Feedback Session
  • Employers can host virtual resume and mock interview sessions
  • Employers provide the video conferencing platform and link (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Create an event in Handshake to advertise to students

Reservation Guidelines

In-person Recruitment Opportunities

  • To reserve a recruiting table, information session room or participate in career advising walk-ins, please submit your desired date and start/end time to us at uwm-set-recruiting@uwm.edu.
  • All reservations must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance of the desired date. Allow 3 business days for approval.
  • In person recruitment opportunities are not available on the day of a CPaRC Event

Note: The best time frame for in-person recruitment is 10 am – 2 pm and the best days of the week are Mondays-Wednesdays.

Virtual Recruitment Opportunities

  • Provide 2 week notice by sending a request e-mail to us at uwm-set-recruiting@uwm.edu with the date and time frame you are interested in
  • Provide company logo for marketing purposes
Parking Information

Parking Options:

  1. Union Parking Garage
  2. Street parking

The Union Parking Garage is located on Kenwood Boulevard and Prospect Avenue

The Student Union can be accessed from the Union Parking Garage.

  • After parking in the garage, take the elevator to the first floor.

Street parking is available in the areas surrounding UWM’s campus.

The Student Union’s main entrance is on Kenwood Boulevard and Farwell Avenue

  • After parking on the street, enter the building through the main entrance and take the stairs or the elevator to the first floor.

Note: The Union Garage and all UWM Parking Garages require a fee. Most street parking in the area is metered. Employers are responsible for payment of parking fees.

Table Location and Set Up:

  • There are gray tables in front of the main staircase on the first floor
  • Each table has a white name card behind it with reserved parties’ (organization) name on it

Note: Please arrive 10 minutes early to set up the table with your items, such as giveaways, employment flyers, business cards, etc.
