Graduate Students

The Career Planning and Resource Center supports both masters and PhD students in all career fields. Graduate students have access to all the services provided to undergraduate students and the resources on our website.

However, our career advisors understand the unique needs of graduate students and can help you with career decision making, internship/job searches, and resume/CV/cover letter writing.

Industry Job Postings

There are a variety of sites that provide job opportunities based on industry, location, etc. In addition to those, we suggest you always include these resources in your search for job listings.

GoinGlobal H-1B Plus and OPT Database lists more than two million companies that have submitted employment authorizations and visa applications since 2009. Search by location, industry, occupation, job title, and company.

Career Planning/Individual Development Plan

Individual development planning (IDP) is often used in organizations to help employees articulate and accomplish work-related goals. Nationally, many academic organizations and institutions have begun using IDPs to promote a process of self-reflection, assessment, and goal-setting for graduate students and postdocs.

  • ImaginePhD – For Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scholars in the humanities and social sciences.

  • MyIDP – Maintained by AAAS and targeted towards graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the sciences.

  • ChemIDP – Designed specifically for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the chemical sciences.

  • APA IDPs – Resources from the American Psychological Association for graduate students in psychology related disciplines.
