Hi! My name is Ericka Stark, and as an Employer Relations Specialist I help on-campus employers recruit, retain, and promote the best student employees for their department. I also help CPaRC manage their budget and business operations.
I’m a proud UWM grad with a long career in Higher Ed. I love working with staff & students and building meaningful relationships that make the University a great place to work, study, and play! If you are looking for ways to improve your student hiring process; email, call, or stop in to see me, my door is always open and I’m ready to help!
I have been working for the Career Planning & Resource Center for about a year on marketing their numerous career/job/majors fairs and other events we hold for students like the JCPenney Suit-Up Event. Since working at CPaRC I have been able to develop my professional skills and learn more about the job search process. I really encourage students to meet with one of our career counselors for resume help, and try to attend at least one career fair a semester. Employers are excited to meet students and it is a great way to build up your network and knowledge of your industry!
Career Resource Assistant
I am a Finance Major with intent to become a financial analyst for a hospital such as Children's Memorial or Froedtert. The resource I would most recommend is Career Cruising or My Plan. Which are websites that provide tests for students to take that matches their skills and interests to a list of career options. Since I changed my major, these were resources that I used personally to help me narrow it down to one specific major that I knew I would enjoy and also really closely matched my interests. The most helpful thing I’ve learned working at CPaRC is that we offer our services to not only students but alum and prospective students as well. At some point I will be a graduate and knowing that I have access to CPaRC’s resources makes me feel better about my professional life after college.
