Community Connections
Milwaukee is home to a strong network of organizations dedicated to advancing equity, civic engagement, education, arts, and community empowerment. Community members can connect with valuable resources and opportunities through the ACLU of Wisconsin, which advocates for civil rights and liberties; the African American Leadership Alliance Milwaukee and the City of Milwaukee Office of African American Affairs, which support leadership development and community advancement; and the African American Roundtable, which organizes grassroots efforts for social and economic justice. Cultural enrichment and historical awareness are fostered through Black Arts MKE and America’s Black Holocaust Museum, while the Greater Milwaukee Urban League provides programs focused on education, workforce development, and economic empowerment. Together, these organizations help strengthen Milwaukee’s communities by promoting opportunity, inclusion, and meaningful civic participation.
