Tromp Award

Call for the “Best Paper Tromp Award” at ICB 2026

The International Society of Biometeorology presents the Tromp Scientific Award to a scientist who has developed the most meaningful peer-reviewed manuscript over the past three years prior to each International Congress. The Tromp Scientific Award is sponsored by the Dutch Foundation for Biometeorological Research and awarded by the International Society of Biometeorology.

For 2026, the Tromp Foundation will provide three awards:

1st Best Paper Award: Winner will present a keynote presentation and be awarded €3,000 plus receive travel and registration support.

2nd Excellent Paper Award: Winner will receive €2,000 plus receive travel and registration support.

3rd Excellent Paper Award: Winner will receive €1,000 plus receive travel and registration support.

  • The Tromp Foundation ICB 2026 award is for an outstanding paper published in a journal with high impact. The award is to highlight an exceptional contribution to biometeorology.
  • The publication date should be after the last ICB, i.e., after May 17th, 2023.
  • There is no demand for ISB membership.
  • The jury will be formed by members of the Board of the Tromp Foundation.
  • The winner will be notified about five months before the Congress.
  • Submission deadline is February 15, 2026.
  • The paper and a short CV should be submitted to internationalbiometeorology[at]gmail.com.  Please name the files a standardized format (2026 Last Name CV Tromp; Jones et al. 2026)
