The Design + Construction Initiative (DCI) is a dynamic platform dedicated to fostering professional growth and advancing research in ecological, environmental, and economical architecture and construction. DCI resides within the Institute for Ecological Design as a special focus group geared toward material and construction issues related to the IED’s broader mission.
Through strategic support for workforce training, career pathways, public symposia, white paper publications, continuing education programs, and the showcasing of student work across SARUP’s extensive community channels, the Initiative serves as a vital resource for students, faculty, and industry professionals.

Engaging faculty and students from the Department of Architecture, the Initiative welcomes participation from distinguished SARUP alumni to shape, guide and direct its activities.
