Biography

Danya Littlefield is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and is a practicing urban planner with experience working in the public, private, and non-profit sectors in Milwaukee and beyond. She is passionate about inclusive, equitable, and data-driven planning processes and has worked on a wide range of planning, urban design, and community research projects in her professional practice. Danya loves making maps, urban and graphic design, and data analysis and visualization, and is enthusiastic about helping others build their skills.

When not teaching at UWM, Danya works as a Senior Transportation Planner at the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works, where she focuses on long-range transportation planning, community-driven programs to create vibrant public spaces, and street design that fosters multimodal transportation options for all Milwaukeeans. She has lived in many cities across the country and world and is proud to call Milwaukee home since 2019.
