Biography
William Kenneth Krueger is an architectural professional and educator at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's School of Architecture and Urban Planning, with a passion for Historic Preservation technologies.
He holds a Master of Architecture and a Certificate in Historic Preservation Studies from UWM. As Director of Documentation at UWM SARUP Historic Preservation Institute, he trains students in various documentation methods, from traditional practices to modern technologies. The purpose is to highlight, further, and sustain research that examines the legacy and limitations associated with the preserving and conserving, of the world’s cultures and heritage.
His expertise includes LiDAR documentation and has collaborated with international institutes. Working on significant projects in Italy, including sites around Mt. Vesuvius and Amelia. Work performed in England is at the Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex.
As former Vice President of SIGHTLINE LLC, he developed guidelines for laser scanning data adopted by Wisconsin state authorities.
His professional experience includes historic preservation consultation for the City of Milwaukee and project liaison work for terra cotta restoration projects.
He is an active member of the Association for Preservation Technology International's Documentation Technology Committee and regularly presents at international conferences on architectural documentation and preservation technologies.
Former caretaker of the historic Frank Lloyd Wright American System home located at 2714 West Burnham Street, in Milwaukee, WI. As a caretaker he was responsible for the maintenance and general up-keep of the home and grounds.
