Biography
Associate Professor Kyle Talbott teaches advanced architectural design, professional practice and computational methods. He is Design Principal and co-founder of SkyHouse Studio, where he designs educational museums and interactive exhibits, climbing structures, and any place that needs a sense of curiosity and adventure. He advocates for human-centered architecture in the design of interior space and urban space. His research explores the nature of human-centeredness and develops related design methods. Prof. Talbott argues that human-centeredness transcends issues of ergonomics and functional accommodation to include inhabitants’ aspirations for a better future. Entrepreneurial practice is also a key element of Prof. Talbott’s research and teaching. He develops simulation-based teaching methods that champion the business of architecture, prepare students to lead in practice, and guide students towards personalized, deeply fulfilling careers.
