Biography
tommy symmes focuses on 20th Century history and social theory as they continually intersect architectural styles. His course “Philosophy for Architects” orients us with respect to the aesthetic precedents and political histories out of which our current creative priorities and values have grown.
On weekends, tommy works at Cactus Club, an independent music and arts venue in Bayview. tommy hosts dance nights, offers DJ lessons, and mops the floor until it sparkles.
tommy freelances as an editor on projects spanning topics from Tibetan Buddhism to algorithmic musical composition. He is currently writing a murder mystery sited in Milwaukee.
tommy also spends a lot of time DJing: all music is dance music.
