Architecture professor Adam Thibodeaux leads Ghost Lab, a research initiative that has architecture students engage with the forgotten histories behind buildings often used by marginalized groups. Their most recent work focuses on the Catherine Foley/Miller Tavern in the Third Ward.
The Milwaukee Magazine article by Evan Musil announces the historical exhibit and gives a brief overview of what Ghost Lab has planned for their newest project.
“Built in 1884, the Catherine Foley/Miller Tavern in the Third Ward will reveal its history through this project by Adam Thibodeaux, a UW-Milwaukee professor,” Musil wrote. “Large stickers covering the windows will offer passersby a peek at the building’s past lives as an LGBTQ+ bar and MIAD’s student union.”
