Colleges and universities in the United States are struggling to enroll, retain and graduate African American male students, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is no different.  To help address these challenges a group of UWM faculty, staff and community partners have launched the UWM African American Male Initiative (AAMI).  The goal of the UWM AAMI is to increase the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of African American males attending UWM through strategic interventions.

The UWM AAMI focuses its efforts on removing the obstacles and providing the essential resources to enhance the educational outcomes for these young men.
