The Reassessing Unit Alignment and Budget Model team presented updates to the Faculty Senate on May 12, 2022. The Becoming Student Centric/Moon Short Equity continued efforts in support of several strategies that support student success (https://uwm.edu/academicaffairs/academic_priorities/student-success/), including: facilitating a meetings between the Multicultural Student Center and the Center for Advocacy and Student Engagement, developing extra-curricular maps and pathways of engagement, examining (and resolving) technology barriers in advising, cataloging all pre-college course to better coordinate, issuing retention grants. Work has also begun on the coordination of student financial services in Mellencamp Hall (opening fall 2022). The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team is wrapping up their successful DEI Institute and expects an update on the one year action plan in late summer. The Revising Curriculum team has a new team lead (David Clark) and are finalizing their proposal (expected summer 2022). The Redesigning the Research team expects recommendation from their peer-review, are working on recommendations for graduate student professional development, and anticipate having an initial report on faculty workloads this summer. The Aligning and Engaging Workforce team is working on professional development for all staff, reviewing survey responses and beginning to develop ideas and recommendations.
