Resources

The Language Resource Center (LRC) is housed in the College of Letters and Science at UWM. Currently, the LRC supports the 18 languages offered at UWM, eight of which provide a full eight semesters of sequenced language instruction, as well as advanced literature and culture courses. As of the fall of 2015, UWM had more than 3,700 students enrolled in the various language classes offered by the major language departments at the university. The Center is home to five Smart language classrooms (many thanks to the Ed Tech support!), a Language Oasis and four specialized language labs (Audio Studio, Video Production, Independent Study, and ESL Testing) and two regular language labs. The average daily student attendance at the LRC facility is up to 1,300 language students.

Over the years, we have been developing in house learning and teaching language materials for our students and instructors. Here, you will find learning resources in twelve different languages that will be incorporated in this area: Arabic, Chinese, English as a Second Language, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
