Provides undergraduate students with an interdisciplinary program for the study of the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean basin (ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, the Near East).
The certificate is designed in two forms: one that includes language study, another that does not. Both forms of this certificate are designed for students majoring in any field in the University who wish to complement their majors with an additional concentration in Asian Studies.
The certificate program is open to all students seeking a bachelor’s degree, but especially to those majoring in history, Hebrew studies, political science, international studies, comparative literature, and philosophy. Language competence is required but may be acquired elsewhere, with certification by the relevant language department at UWM.
The certificate program is designed for students majoring in any field, but specifically for those majoring in Russian, political science, history, geography, and international studies, as well as for non-majors.
The Scandinavian Studies Certificate Program is open to all students seeking a bachelor’s degree from UWM and to students who previously received a bachelor’s degree from UWM or any other accredited college or university.
