Everything is connected!
The Department of World Languages and Cultures brings together eleven modern language programs and three global culture and communication programs to offer a wide range of courses and degree programs in world languages and intercultural perspectives. Our array of programs offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the learning of world languages and cultures and acquire an education that will transcend borders.
Language and culture-based majors and minors include Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, which allow you to develop advanced communication skills in another language while also exploring the art, literature and history of global cultures, studies you can continue within the Master of Arts program in World Languages and Cultures. Beyond these degree programs, we also offer Hebrew language courses, as well as courses in Translation and Interpreting Studies.
Interested in examining literary and artistic works across multiple regions and periods? The Comparative Literature minor may be a good choice for you. The Global Studies major and minor allow students to explore a range of internationally relevant courses within business, communication, sustainability, and more.
