The Final Year

An old hour glass with sand trickling down, surrounded by clocks

This is my final semester as an undergrad. Where do I start? My feelings are all over the place. On one hand, I’m excited to be closer to my degree and being done with this part of the journey. On the other hand, I’m afraid of what will happen after graduation. There are a few things I do to keep me grounded and to not go down the rabbit hole of “what if?” anxiety. Hopefully, these strategies and reminders help you too.

  1. Keep reminding myself that I don’t have to worry about the future right now. My focus should be on passing fall semester classes and staying on the path to finish.
  2. Go talk to someone about these feelings if it gets to be too much. Normally I just call my bestie and vent. She knows how to calm me down and redirect my focus.
  3. I leave notes around my apartment to remind me to “stay focused on the present” or “worry about the now”. These little reminders help me daily to not worry about the future.

It’s the final countdown . Remember to take care of yourself. Get the sleep, eat food, and stay hydrated. And remember, the Student Health and Wellness Center is here to support you.

Best of luck, Panthers! You got this!
