Nathan Sheppard, MSW, LCSW

Nathan Sheppard is the Case Manager at the Student Health and Wellness Center (SHAW) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He recently graduated from the University of Michigan with his Master’s in Social Work and moved back to Milwaukee. He has worked as a counselor and therapist for members of the LGBTQ+ community and with university students. Nathan also recently worked as a crisis counselor for LGBTQ+ youth. Nathan was a previous clinical fellow at SHAW where he provided case management and therapy services to a vast population of students. He has learned from his past experiences to approach case management with a strong emphasis on empowerment and increasing accessibility to resources for all communities. Nathan believes in creating a collaborative, non-judgmental, and supportive space for all students. Nathan will work hard to help students better understand their community resources, advocate for themselves, and navigate any confusion in the mental healthcare system. Students can expect to be supported and encouraged by Nathan to find, connect, and initiate care with community services efficiently.
