Jeb Ebben, MSW, LCSW

  • Counselor

Jeb is a licensed clinical social worker, having received their Master’s in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee as a returning adult student. They grew up in Western and Northern Wisconsin but have been in Milwaukee for almost 20 years. They have worked in hospital, university, and community-based settings with diverse populations including young adults, LGBTQ+ youth and older adults, and refugees. Prior to going back to school to become a therapist, they had worked for several years in corporate training. While they decided to leave the corporate environment, they have retained a passion for training, coaching, and outreach.

Jeb’s primary therapeutic orientation is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, an evidence-based approach focusing on increasing psychological flexibility and getting “unstuck” from life’s problems and worries. Jeb’s work is also informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, polyvagal theory, exposure-based therapies, and internal family systems. Their clinical interests include trauma and resiliency, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, LGBTQ+ issues, grief, and adjustment/life transitions. They view therapy as a collaborative, relational process, and approach counseling from a compassionate, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and healing-centered perspective.

When they aren't working, Jeb enjoys spending time with their family, hiking, drawing, writing, and playing tabletop role-playing games.
