The Student Health and Wellness Center (SHAW) offers Wellness Visits to help students stay healthy throughout the school year. These appointments focus on health screenings and preventive care, giving students the opportunity to check in on their health and wellness and identify potential concerns early.

What to Expect During a Wellness Visit

Wellness Visits are screening appointments with SHAW providers. During these visits, providers may perform basic health screenings and discuss preventative care strategies to support your overall well-being.

Examples of screenings may include:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Basic health assessments
  • Medical care counseling
  • Mental health services
  • Victim advocacy
  • Preventive health discussions
  • Student basic needs assessment
  • and much more

If a provider identifies a concern during the screening, they will help guide you through the next steps for follow-up care.
