Ian Kendrick
- Counseling Intern
Ian is a Master of Social Work Student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He grew up in a small town in southwestern Wisconsin called Fennimore and obtained his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. Ian has experience providing services for people with disabilities with a focus on empowerment, education, and support.
Ian has also provided counseling services for individuals and families. Ian has a special interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an approach focused on changing the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Ian also draws from Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to collaboratively create treatment goals, identify strengths, and build resiliency when working with students.
When not at SHAW, Ian can be found doing one of his many hobbies, including woodworking, playing tabletop games with friends, listening to audiobooks, and biking.
