Fridays 10:30 a.m. – noon Student Health and Wellness Center 8th Floor
General therapy groups are a powerful form of therapy to help facilitate growth and change. Groups consist of 5-9 students who meet weekly to share their concerns, receive feedback/ support, and provide feedback to other group members in a safe and confidential environment. Common issues discussed in group include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and family stressors. For more information contact Lynn Mucha LCSW at mucha@uwm.edu, or contact Counseling Services at 414-229-7429.
Topic Groups
Topic-based groups bring students together who are going through or have gone through similar experiences and share common ground. Sharing a common experience related to identity, trauma, transition, etc. helps members focus on a more specific life area/concern and provides students with peer support and understanding. Topic groups are facilitated by a SHAW Counseling Services provider.
