- 12 month fellowship in college mental health beginning in August, 2026
- Multidisciplinary training opportunity for new, post-masters professionals from the fields of social work, counseling, and marriage and family therapy.
- Provides supervised clinical practice to help you refine your clinical skills in preparation for functioning as an independent practitioner
- Focus on providing clinical services including individual and group therapy with occasional outreach activities
- Formal training activities include weekly case conference, regular training seminars, and individual supervision
Direct Clinical Service
- Caseload of 18-20 clients a week providing brief, time-limited counseling
- Individual and relationship therapy with diverse undergraduate and graduate/professional clients
- Co-facilitation of group therapy with a variety of groups tailored to various topics and identities
- Crisis intervention and mental health emergency response
Indirect Clinical Service
- Weekly two hour supervision with a licensed senior staff member focused on clinical case management, therapy dynamics, and professional/personal development issues
- Weekly two hour group sup/case conference for discussion of issues related to providing clinical care in the university setting
- Training seminars and professional development programs
- Committee work including agency committees and task groups
- Participation in weekly staff meetings and regular meetings with the training director

Requirements
- Completion of MSW degree, a master’s degree in counseling/counselor education or related field, or a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and working toward independent licensure
- Degrees must be conferred and APSW/LPC-IT/MFT-IT certification obtained for state of Wisconsin by August 1, or the first day of the fellowship
- Two years of related experience is preferred
- A supervised internship or equivalent work in a university counseling center, mental health agency or related professional setting is preferred
- General skills, knowledge, and experience in individual, relationship, and group counseling/psychotherapy; assessment; multicultural issues; and crisis intervention.
