Emotional Health/Stress Management
De-stress, not Distress
🕐 50 minutes
Description: Let’s take a break! As busy college students, experiencing stress is common. The impact of ongoing or unresolved stress can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, irritability, poor concentration, physical illness, fatigue, and sleep difficulties. In this workshop, we will discuss the stressors in our lives, reflect on the tools and strategies we currently use to cope and take care of ourselves, and explore new ways to proactively manage stress.
You Can Help!: Prevent Suicide
🕐 75-90 Minutes
You Can Help!: Prevent Suicide is a bystander intervention program that enables students to help fellow students in emotional distress. Through this program, students will:
- become familiar with some basic facts related to college student mental health,
- understand the warning signs of emotional distress and suicide,
- be prepared to support someone in emotional distress in crisis,
- learn how to refer fellow students to the appropriate resources, and
- understand strategies for increasing resiliency and engaging in self-care

Sleep
Sleep on It
🕐 50 minutes
Difficulty sleeping? Daytime sleepiness? As a college student, getting quality sleep can be tough. Sleep is essential to academic performance, physical, and emotional health. In this workshop, you can expect to discuss the benefits of sleep, assess your own quality of sleep, learn effective sleep strategies, and design your sleep routine. You’ll be on your way to maximizing all the benefits of a good night’s sleep!

Nutrition
Eating On a Time Crunch

Description: Finding time to cook and eat nutritious foods as a busy college student is hard! In this workshop, we’ll discuss tips for sneaking in nutritious foods during a busy schedule, tips for meal prepping, and packing lunches. By the end of it, you’ll also have made your own recipe book!

Alcohol and Other Drugs
BASICS: Brief Alcohol and Other Drug Screening & Intervention for College Students
BASICS offers students an opportunity to explore their use of alcohol, marijuana or other drugs in a confidential and non-judgmental setting with a Health Promotion & Wellness staff member. BASICS is a two-session, individuals-only program, it is not designed for student groups.
Drinking/Drug Culture Close-Up
This program can help your student group, team or living-learning community openly discuss all perspectives, attitudes and impacts of drinking or other drug use among members. The program opens the door for a peer-to-peer conversation about the group’s drinking or drug culture, and if and how to best adjust it on an individual and group level. An anonymous online survey completed by group members gets the discussion going. You might be surprised by what your peers have to say!
You Can Help!: Prevent Overdose
To learn more about how to help in an overdose situation, participate in You Can Help! Prevent Overdose, a bystander intervention training that encourages students to help others in unsafe alcohol- or other drug-related situations. Participants learn important information and process realistic situations to enhance the skills, confidence and empathy necessary to respond quickly and effectively when someone may be overdosing.

Healthy Relationships
Swipe Safely
🕐 50 minutes
Join the Peer Health Educators for a conversation on dating apps, safety features, and tips to keep yourself safe while messaging and meeting people online. We’ll explore the safety features of dating apps and practice “swiping” on fake dating profiles.
Snack & Chat
🕐 50 minutes
Join the Peer Health Educators for a conversation about the variety of relationships we see in entertainment. We’ll watch clips from popular shows and movies and discuss what makes a relationship healthy. Snacks will be provided!
Relationship Goals: Exploring Healthy Relationships
This workshop focuses on healthy relationships (platonic, romantic, and/or sexual). Using a mix of self-reflection and group discussion, participants will explore their own needs, wants, and deal-breakers in relationships, be introduced to new ideas about healthy relationships, and practice communicating their needs.
You Can Help!: Prevent Sexual and Relationship Violence
With this You Can Help! bystander intervention training, participants will learn the important role they can play as active bystanders in preventing sexual and relationship violence by learning safe and effective ways to intervene. Participants will learn how to identify potentially harmful situations, understand behaviors and attitudes that contribute to a culture of violence, and practice new intervention techniques.

Body Acceptance
Journaling for Body Acceptance

Description: In this workshop, students can explore various styles of journaling and find one that meets their interests. We’ll discuss using journaling as a form of self-care to help students better express their thoughts and reflect on them. The focus of this workshop is on body acceptance and body neutrality, and how journaling can be an outlet for reflecting on your relationship with your body.

SMART Goals and Vision Boards

Description: Are you in a period of transition? Are you working toward a particular goal? Maybe you have big dreams but don’t know where to start. In this program, the Peer Health Educators will walk you through how to set SMART goals, how to break down big dreams into more manageable and attainable goals, and create a vision board as a reminder of where you are headed!
