Mini-Courses Saturday Academy

Mini-Courses Saturday Academy Program is an intense, academic program for middle school students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades that meets for five Saturdays. Saturday Academy is designed to enhance students’ academic skills, and knowledge in careers and college options. Each semester, a selection of classes is offered to reinforce skills in one or more of the following subject areas: math, reading, English, science, STEM, computers, foreign language, arts, and/or career-related classes. Curriculum reinforces basic skills and competencies through various hands-on activities, group projects, classroom instructions and/or presentations. Program is limited to 90 students each session. The fee for the program is $135 per session. Scholarships are no longer available.

Fall 2019 Session

Fall Orientation: Saturday, October 12, 2019 10:00am – 11:00am
Program Dates: Saturdays, October 19, 26, November 2, 9, & 16 2019 9:00am – 12:00am
Closing Ceremony: Saturday, November 16, 2019 11:30am – 12:30am

Spring 2020 Session

Note: New Saturday Hours: 9:00am – 12:00am

Spring Orientation: Saturday, February 1, 2020 10:00am – 11:00am
Program Dates: Saturdays, February 8, 15, 22, 29 & March 7, 2020 9:00am – 12:00am
Closing Ceremony: Saturday, March 7, 2020 11:30am – 12:30pm

Eligibility

There is no grade point average requirement to be eligible for Saturday Academy. Students must be in grades 6-8.

To receive an application, please call the Mini-Courses office at 414-229-6236 or email minicourses@uwm.edu to be placed on our mailing list for the upcoming session. Otherwise, applications are available for download under the Brochures link during open registration. Please note: classes fill up quickly and reach full enrollment before the deadline date.
