Microsoft SharePoint is a web-based collaboration and document management platform that is part of the Microsoft 365 suite licensed to students, faculty, and staff at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM). It enables teams and organizations to create shared sites where users can store, organize, and securely share documents, as well as collaborate on content in real time. SharePoint integrates closely with other Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, allowing users to co-author files, manage workflows, and build internal communication sites or project hubs. As part of UWM’s Microsoft 365 environment, SharePoint provides a centralized, university-supported platform for file storage, collaboration, and information sharing that can be accessed from any device with an internet connection.
