2024 -2025 Renewal Due by Noon on September 26, 2024
Renewal is the process for continuing Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) to re-register for the upcoming academic year. This process ensures that all RSOs maintain their active status and stay eligible for institutional benefits and resources. By completing the renewal, RSOs can continue hosting events, accessing funding opportunities, and utilizing campus facilities. Follow the steps below to renew.
Update Your Organization Information
- One officer must update officer, roster and organization Information using the Presence Transition tool.
- To complete this step, the student officer must have organization administrator status for the organization.

Attend Training
- Each Officer must complete the “Organization Registration and Officer Training” module in Canvas named Student Organization Training 2024-25 .
- Go through the Officer Training Module in detail, take the Officer Training Quiz at the end of the module and get an 80% to complete your officer training requirements. [Note: If the organization needs to do a make up for SOCN, the minimum score need for each officer will be 90%.]
Complete Contracts
Each of the 4 primary officers must complete and submit an individual Officer Contract in order to be considered eligible for officer status. In addition, the organization’s Faculty/Staff Advisor must complete and submit an Advisor Contract.
Attend Student Organization Conference Night
- Attend Student Organization Conference Night (SOCN)
- Thursday, September 19, 2024, Student Union (Wisconsin Room on the 2nd floor) 4:00-7:00PM
- Optional Resource Fair 3:15-4:00PM
- Optional SAC Grant Training 7:00-8:00pm
- As attending is a required step in the Org Renewal process, your organization must identify at least one officer to attend this in-person event for the entire required portion (4:00-7:00pm). The event includes organization support info tables, workshops, and opportunities to meet with your organization liaison.
- Please follow the link to the Student Organization Conference Night (SOCN) RSVP Form. We need to know the name(s) of Student Org Officer(s) attending and which organization(s) they are representing. Please complete this form by noon on Wednesday, September 18. If you submit later than this day, there may be a delay in your organization being renewed. If none of your organization officers can attend, you will have a chance to provide additional information to help us understand the issue. Note: Filling out this form is the ONLY way to access information about the make-up requirements that will be offered later in September.

Additional Information
The Public Renewal Tracker displays information on where an organization is in the renewal process. The tracker is not automated. Student Involvement will publish updated tracker information each Monday in August by 12:00PM. In September, reports will be published on Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 12:00PM.

The following timeline has been established to guide organization through the renewal process in a timely manner. Your organization officers should do there best to at least keep up with the timeline. Ideally, the renewal process could be completed weeks before the deadline.

Tools
Organization Transition Tool: This Presence tool will make it easier to reach the current organization registration form and make the necessary updates to it. It will also allow for changes in the organization roster all in one process. Once approved, new officers will automatically get basic administrative access to their organization in Presence.

An organization that previously operated at UWM but is now inactive must apply with Student Involvement to reactivate the group. This involves the same steps as updating your Organization Registration. However, the students who want to reactivate the inactive organization may want to obtain copies of any governing documents, previous organization paperwork, or other important documents Student Involvement. New and inactive organizations should use the Organization Registration Process to register their organization.
