Official Functions

UWM official functions are events sponsored by the university. These events help support the university’s mission. The Office of External and Government Relations manages these events. Official functions are usually stand-alone events. They are separate from day-to-day operations and programs. Some examples include: 

• Functions related to the construction or opening of new facilities and dedication ceremonies.
• Functions for prominent visitors, such as:
  • Community leaders
  • Lawmakers and officials
  • Leaders of education programs
  • Board of Visitors
  • Officials from other schools or organizations
• The inauguration ceremony for a new chancellor.
• Functions to honor distinguished faculty, staff and students for significant, meritorious achievements.
