The Spanish Program offers a Master of Arts in Spanish. Qualified graduate students admitted into the Spanish program may apply for a departmental Teaching Assistantship in Spanish or Portuguese. Download the Teaching Assistantship Application Form (Word). The deadline for the first round of consideration for a teaching assistantship in Spanish is February 1. Applications will be accepted after that date, on a rolling basis, until positions have been assigned. Recipients teach between one and two courses per semester and receive a stipend plus full tuition remission. Summer Teaching Assistantships are available on a limited basis and are not guaranteed. The writing sample requested in the application should be field appropriate (Hispanic Literature or Linguistics) with proper formatting (MLA or APA style). Advanced academic papers with references are preferred.
