This new course is a new and timely course developed for the Social Work Department regarding AI use and Technology for the rapidly changing practice landscape of health and social services.  This course was developed with the generous support of the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute.  The course was developed cooperatively by faculty in both Social Work and Information Studies.

          • AI Statement missing.
          • Reservations about any course that aims to explore the ethical implications of AI that does not also encourage its students to question the assumption that AI *should* become a central component of a field (in this case, social work).

      6. SOC WRK 730
This new course has been historically offered for many, many years in the Social Work department, but as a Current Topics subtopic (SOC WRK 791, subtopic School Social Work Practice).  With program evolution, an attempt to make the program curriculum easier for students to follow, and an attempt to better align the significance of and title of this course with the standards of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (WI DPI), the program is seeking to assign a unique and permanent course number and revise title to this subtopic, effectively making it its own course in the program curriculum.
        • GCC Feedback: The Following Information is Required for All Classes:
          • Typo: “Resect for Diversity”.

      7. SOC WRK 731
This new course has been historically offered for many, many years in the Social Work department, but as a Current Topics subtopic (SOC WRK 791, subtopic School Social Work: Exceptional Individual).
