  3. New Business
    1. Proposed new chapter to Academic Staff Personnel Policies and Procedures (ASPPP) – Chapter 114: Instructional Academic Staff Workload – After thorough review and discussion, K. Scholz moved and A. Trumbull-Holper seconded to submit AS Codification Committee’s revisions and comments to ASC asking that ASC review and resubmit to AS Codification Committee. Motion pass unanimously. General comments about the draft Chapter 114 included: The policy needs to be clear and consistent about when it’s referring to instructional workload and/or overall workload. The policy should be clear that if non-instructional duties are expected, they need to be documented either in contract/pd or unit policy, probably both. The policy only covers minimum requirements and doesn’t address overloads, but should. The reporting framework for non-compliance with policy seems to bypass current reporting structures for similar issues and should be revised or clarified with reasoning for difference. If there is a separate policy covering adjunct instructors it should be linked in this policy. If there isn’t a separate adjunct policy yet, there should be one.
  4. Unfinished Business – None.
  5. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
