- Recommendation of the Graduate Program Review Committee to revise the procedures for Qualitative Reviews of Graduate Programs (FD3197R2)
J. Mersky presented the GPRC’s proposed revisions to its review process for accredited programs to reduce duplication and burden and to address challenges with limited access to accreditation meetings and inconsistent internal review team participation over multi-year cycles. After considering and rejecting two alternative approaches, the GPRC adopted a model similar to UW-Madison, in which an internal review team is assigned after the accreditation process concludes to review materials and provide any additional insights or concerns.
The committee recommended several edits to improve clarity, including revisions to definitions, section organization, and specific wording.
Motion: to approved the document as amended. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
