April 24, 2025 – Faculty Senate Rules Committee – Minutes

Present: J. Boyland, M. Kavanaugh, E. Middleton, J. Reisel, S. Scholz, E. Young
Guest: Lawrence Kuiper, Chair of the International Committee

  1. Call to order
    The meeting was called to order at 3:02 pm.
  2. Auto Consent
    The April 3, 2025 minutes were approved as distributed.                                  
  3. Set Agenda
    The committee reviewed the Faculty Senate meeting agendas for May 6 & 8, 2025. Business items and time limits were set.

    L. Kuiper requested a brief discussion regarding the elimination of the Institute for World Affairs. The committee agreed to add the endorsement of the International Committee’s letter on the matter to the Senate agenda.
  4. Other
    M. Kavanaugh provided updates on the Chancellor’s celebration and on President Rothman’s committee-of-the-whole discussion.
  5. Adjournment
    The meeting adjourned at 3:32 pm.
