Faculty Ethics Advisory Committee (FEAC)

The Faculty Ethics Advisory Committee (FEAC) recommends policies and procedures to implement the Code of Ethics (UWS 8) and provides confidential consultation and advice to faculty on its application. It issues an annual public report summarizing its guidance without disclosing individual identities.

  1. Membership. The committee is composed of the following members:
    1. three elected Faculty members. To be eligible for election, a Faculty member must have served on the Codification Committee, a Divisional Executive Committee, or the University Committee.
  2. Functions.
    1. Recommends to the Faculty Senate those policies and procedures necessary to implement the Code of Ethics (UWS 8);
    2. Provides consultation and advice on the application of UWS 8 to any member of the Faculty.  In accordance with UWS 8.035, the committee’s deliberations and actions upon request for consultation or advice shall be in meetings not open to the public.  Records obtained in connection with requests for consultation or advice shall be considered confidential University information.   However, summaries of advice provided by the committee, which do not disclose the identities of persons requesting such advice, shall be made public in an annual report.
