- Revisions to Academic Staff Personnel Policies and Procedures (ASPPP) – Chapter 108: Notice Periods – AS Cod reviewed the proposed revisions to Chapter 108 and discussed additional changes to clarify and for consistency. They are recommending to ASC:
The footnote defining cumulative years of service is orphaned by the current edit and the committee thought it was important enough to be added to the main text of the policy.
Clarity on how appointments of <12 months are counted for years of service. Is it for the number of months or the number of Academic Years? Does that change if a 9 month appointment is paid across a 12 month period?
Section 4 reference the ‘notice period defined above’, but there are multiple schedules of notice defined above. Asking that this section be updated to clarify which, fixed-term or probationary, to use.
Use the phrase ‘notice of non-renewal’ be used consistently throughout the document to maintain clarity.
Use full phrase ‘University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM)’ for first reference before switching to the acronym.
Update the capitalization of the second instance of UWM in the first exception edits. Update spelling error of University in second line of the same exception.
M. Murphy-Lee moved and A. Meddaugh seconded to send recommendations to ASC. Motion carried unanimously.
